Aldborough CC won both league games over the weekend to ensure that both teams finished in the runners-up spot in Leagues 1 and 5 respectively. With no team from the West Norfolk League likely to promote to the Alliance (although this is by no means confirmed) then it may be that The Greens will get promoted from the Norfolk League with Hardingham; we are currently awaiting confirmation of this. The 2nd XI had a nail-biting finish at home to promotion contenders Hingham and the Sunday 6-a-Side tournament was a great success. An excellent season ended with victory and celebration as both teams won to (probably) seal promtion. Read on for the match reports… (more…)

Hello Friends! The excitement is building down Aldborough way as the firsts, led by talismanic skipper The Grebe, continued their title push with a hard fought win at Shipdham. The next two Saturdays will decide whether The Greens can claim a historic Div 1 title and bring some silverware to the starved trophy cabinet! Aldborough 259 for 5 (26) beat Great Yarmouth 63 for 10 (3)
After the disaster that was the previous weeks defeat to previously bottom team Kirkley, Aldborough faced newly entrenched Great Yarmouth and banished their cricket demons in emphatic and glorious style. At the forefront of what turned out to be a crushing victory was Kevin Bacon and it was he who cooked the Seasiders Goose. (more…)
